Almost all the rivers and lakes in
Northern Pakistan are ideal for trout fishing. Popular with the
Angler are the Kunhar river in the Kaghan valley, Lake Saiful
Maluk again the Kaghan valley, the Swat river in the upper
stretches of the Swat valley, the Gilgit river between the
Shandur pass and Gupis as well as Phander Lake and Hunderab lake
in the same region, Rama Lake in the Astor river, Satpara and
Kachura lakes in the Skardu, Baltistan.
The Northern Areas of Pakistan offer excellent Trout fishing
from May to September. Most of these areas are not very well
known nor easily accessed so the fishing is quite good. Two
types of Trout Fish are found in the rivers & streams of
Pakistan: the famous Rainbow Trout and the Brown Trout.
