This spectacular trek takes us to one of the most remotely inhabited areas of the Karakoram. To find Hunza traditions still alive, you need to travel to more difficult and remote valleys like Shimshal. Our drive takes us through all of the Hunza Valley, and the trek leads past rugged. mountains, through a narrow gorge, which opens up at the Shimshal Village, where about 120 families of 1000 Shimshal people, all of them Ismaili live in the hamlets surrounded by terraced and irrigated fields. Spend a free day for exploration before your out bound  trek on the same route.

The couragious, and well acclimtised can cross over Chapchingal Pass (5150m) down to Kuksel Stream, and back to the Karakoram Highwaybelow Khunjerb Pass. This rewarding trek takes you to Zargarbin Pass, (4600m) and Shimshal Pass (4735m) and the high pastures lands worth visiting.


Trip Itinerary:

Day 01             Islamabad. Hotel.
Day 02             Fly to Gilgit or drive to Chilas in case of flight cancellation. Hotel.
Day 03             Drive to Karimabad either from Gilgit or Chilas. Hotel.
Day 04             Visit Altit and Balt forts. Hotel.
Day 05             Drive to Shimshal (3000m). Tent.
Day 06             Trek to Zardgarben (4075m). Tent.
Day 07             Trek to Pamir Maidur (4348m). Tent.
Day 08-09        Free days for local exploration. Tent.
Day 10             Trek back to Zardgarben. Tent.
Day 11             Trek to Shimshal. Tent.
Day 12             Drive to Gilgit. Hotel.
Day 13             Fly to Islamabad or drive to Besham in case of flight cancellation. Hotel.
Day 14             Free day
Day 15             Fly Out.
